The FlightMax EX500 interfaces with the Heads Up Technology (www.heads-up.com) XMD-076 XM Datalink Receiver for high-speed XM broadcast weather. The addition of XM Satellite Weather will also provide access to lightning data from the National Lightning Detection Network® while operating over the continental United States (CONUS). Graphical METARs for all reporting airports are also in the list, which can help you in determining an alternate airport in the event of inclement weather or an emergency situation. Textual METARs are also available for each reporting airport. FlightMax provides plain text translation of each METAR, which contains a mini-weather report for that reporting point. It decodes and displays ceiling, visibility, wind speed/direction, temperature/dew point, barometric setting.
